Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas worked hard this offseason to return from a broken leg. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old reportedly re-fractured his leg in a gruesome injury during practice on Friday.
According to Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star, the fracture occurred around the rod insert into Thomas’ leg last season by doctors.
Rick Burkholder says De’Anthony Thomas has a freak accident in practice and refractured his leg.
Rod from last year’s surgery is still in there, but it fractured around it.

While Thomas only played in a limited role for Kansas City’s offense, this will still be a hit as it takes away an explosive player.
Once a star at the University of Oregon, Thomas has settled into a minor role on special teams and as a gadget player offensively in the NFL. He finishes the 2018 season with one receiving touchdown and 35 total yards on four touches.
