The Dallas Cowboys will go on the road to take on the Washington Redskins on Sunday. But the team will not be coming home immediately after the game.
After Sunday’s game, the Cowboys will remain in Washington to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Monday.
“It’s huge, I’m excited for it,” quarterback Dak Prescott said per Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I think it’s going to be a great trip. We are going to learn a lot and see some things. I think it’s going to be great for our team, great camaraderie.”
Owner Jerry Jones added that “It means so much to the players but also the National Football League and our game.”
This is not unprecedented for Dallas. In recent years, the Cowboys have visited Navy Seal headquarters in San Diego, Ground Zero in New York, and NASA in Houston.
The schedule help makes the trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture possible. Dallas has a bye week after the game in Washington.
