Bills head coach says Josh Allen is week-to-week with elbow injury

It sure looks like Buffalo Bills fans in Western New York are going to have to deal with Nathan Peterman at quarterback.

At the very least, that’s what head coach Sean McDermott hinted at during his press conference. Rookie starter Josh Allen suffered an elbow injury in the team’s loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. He didn’t return to the field.

McDermott is now indicating that Allen is week-to-week, while also noting that he’ll be evaluated again prior to Buffalo’s game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Given that the injury is to his throwing arm, it’s highly unlikely Allen will be on the field as his Bills attempt to get their third win of the season.

If not, Buffalo will have to go with a quarterback in Nathan Peterman who almost literally threw the game away against Houston on Sunday (more on that here).

All said, the second-year quarterback has thrown three touchdowns compared to nine interceptions in 79 career pass attempts. He won’t inspire confidence in the talented-depleted Bills being able to turn around what has been a lost season.

Let’s just hope Allen’s injury isn’t too severe and he’ll be able to get on the field at some point here soon.
