Sports world reacts to Mac Miller’s death

That last couple years have been defined too much by some of the greatest artists in the music community meeting their untimely demise.

That’s in no way more apparent than the death of 26-year-old hip-hop artist and Pittsburgh native Mac Miller from an apparent overdose on Friday.

Miller’s presence in said community and around the music world was cut short by a demon that has befallen so many other greats of the past.

Once the reports of Miller’s death hit social media on Friday, those around the sports world were the first to react. That includes Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell.

Recently-retired cornerback and future Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis, who played college ball at Pittsburgh, offered up this tremendous tribute on his Instagram account.

Over in the NBA, new Chicago Bulls star Jabari Parker took to IG to pay tribute to the gone-too-soon artist.

Here are some more responses to Friday’s terribly tragic news.

Miller’s life and ultimate demise can act as a cautionary tale. No matter how much it seems one has in life, substance abuse and mental health issues are real. He battled them his entire career.

All we can hope now is that the young man has found peace.
