Report: Patriots workout former Browns first-round pick Corey Coleman

The New England Patriots’ group of makeshift receivers performed pretty well in their season-opening win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Phillip Dorsett led the charge by catching all seven of his targets, including a touchdown from Tom Brady. However, the rest of New England’s wide receivers tallied a combined two catches on six targets in the win.

In an attempt to see what might be out there in free agency, New England worked out former Cleveland Browns first-round pick Corey Coleman on Monday.

Coleman, 24, was traded from Cleveland to the Buffalo Bills during the summer. That came after he caught just 56 passes in his first two NFL seasons. The former No. 15 overall pick was then almost immediately released by a talent-starved Bills squad. That’s certainly not a good sign.

But if anyone can help Coleman resurrect a lost career, it’s Mr. Brady. Just look at how good Dorsett looked on Sunday.
