The NFL Competition Committee met early this week to discuss whether there should be a change to the quarterback hit rule. Many within the committee expressed issues with how the rule was impacting the quality of the game through the first three weeks.
Unfortunately for the league and those who love watching the game, NFL VP of Football Operations Troy Vincent announced on Thursday that no changes will be made this season.

It’s been a complete disaster through the first three weeks. Multiple bad calls on Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews have impacted his team’s ability to win.
Meanwhile, Dolphins defensive lineman William Hayes suffered a torn ACL last week when avoiding a direct hit on Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. It led to Richard Sherman calling the league out in a big way.
No one should be surprised that the NFL didn’t change this rule in-season. The league rarely admits its mistakes. Unfortunately, it’s now going to lead to more drama as the 2018 season progresses. That’s for sure.
