It’s pretty common knowledge that Kyle Shanahan doesn’t have super fond feelings about his tenure as a coach with the Washington Redskins.

He’s taken shots at the organization in the past. On Wednesday he did it again while discussing his old pupil, Kirk Cousins.

He said he’s been rooting on Kirk Cousins from afar ever since being fired by Washington, per Chad Graff of The Athletic — something that’s evident in the way San Francisco tried to acquire Cousins before landing Jimmy Garoppolo.

Then Shanahan added, “I’m even more happy that he’s out there doing it for someone else.”

Whew.

That comment doesn’t leave any room for interpretation. Clearly, Shanahan is happy Cousins got out of Washington — one of the most toxic organizations in football today.
