Jamal Adams reveals the one thing he’d change about teammate Sam Darnold

The New York Jets have new life this year, thanks in large part do the emergence of rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.

One of the team’s defensive leaders, safety Jamal Adams, was asked about his new teammate on Tuesday, and while he said he likes Darnold, there’s one thing he wishes he could change about the former USC star.

His looks.

That “little swish-back” Adams refers to here was something that we recently highlighted during the preseason when both he and Josh McCown — at the exact same time — ran their hands through their hair in a hilarious moment on the sideline.

This kind of good-natured ribbing from Adams shows just how much Darnold is appreciated. Teammates don’t bother with it unless they have developed a good relationship, and it’s clear by the rest of what Adams said afterward that the rookie has already begun to become a leader on the team.

The Jets are 1-1 this season, and Darnold has had a lot to do with both the win and the loss. This team is on its way up as long as the rookie continues to learn from his mistakes, which he’ll attempt to do on Thursday night when the Jets travel to Cleveland for a date with the Browns.
