Nick Folk Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2016 Schedule

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans fullback Jameel Cook is in some hot water with the law.

A decade after retiring from the NFL, the Super Bowl champion is now facing the possibility of spending the next decade in prison.

Cook, 39, was charged by theĀ Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Texas with allegedly stealing north of $100,000 in cash from a trust meant for injured former NFL players.

The DA alleges that Cook filed 30 false claims from March of 2016 and September of last year. He was reimbursed the cash after having claimed to pay out-of-pocket for medical bills.

According to TMZ Sports, the charges carry up to 10 years in prison and include at least one felony.

An original sixth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2001, Cook won a Super Bowl title as a part-time starter with the team the following season. He spent a total of six seasons in Tampa and another two in Houston before his career came to an end following the 2008 season.
