Eagles WR Mike Wallace suffered broken foot on Sunday

Just as the Philadephia Eagles get Carson Wentz back from injury, the team will be without veteran receiver Mike Wallace for the foreseeable future.

In the same press conference announcing Wentz’s return from last season’s torn ACL, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson noted that Mike Wallace suffered a broken foot Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The specific break is said to be of the fibula, meaning that Wallace could very well be lost for the season.

A former Pro Bowl performer with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wallace has put up zero catches in parts of two games this season. Despite his lack of production, Philadelphia has some major depth issues at wide receiver. He was being relied on moving forward.

This likely means that Philadelphia will look for a replacement on the free agent market or trade block. Whether Josh Gordon becomes an option remains to be seen.

Wallace, 32, signed a one-year, $4 million deal with Philadelphia back in March.
