Bill Belichick claims Josh Gordon trade not yet done

It would be the most Cleveland Browns thing of all time.

Two days after sending Josh Gordon to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round pick and after both sides seemingly made it official with announcements, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is claiming the trade is not yet done.

“I’m not going to talk about players that are not actually on our roster, totally,” Belichick told reporters at a press conference Wednesday. “There are terms that have to be met before the trade is finalized.”

He added even more intrigue to the story.

Reports have since surfaced that the hold up is due to a tweak in language, primarily the seventh-round pick that’s involved.

While it is expected to get done soon, it’s not quite passed the finished line. Knowing both the Patriots and Browns, something could easily run afoul here. As it is, we’re still expecting the trade to be finalized at some point Wednesday.
