Why does Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M scare one of his former players?

Before he became a coaching legend at Florida State, Jimbo Fisher was an offensive coordinator at LSU, where he coached Matt Flynn for three years.

Flynn, who ended up taking his talents to the NFL after college, is now scared to see his former coach leading the charge at Texas A&M.

So what has caused this fear?

Here’s what Flynn had to say Friday during a radio interview with ormer LSU tailback Jacob Hester on 104.5 FM ESPN Radio, per Glenn Gulibeau of the Daily Advertiser.

“Jimbo at Texas A&M scares me. He’s in Texas, where he can get all the talent he wants.

“He’s going to beat UT at recruiting. And he’s close to Louisiana. He can dip in,” Flynn said. “So this is a big season for him. It’s a big season for LSU, as far as record goes, to hopefully not allow him to have that much success when he dips here in Louisiana. But yeah, Jimbo worries me a lot as a LSU fan. He’s a good coach and a good recruiter.”

For what it’s worth, TAMU landed the No. 18-ranked recruiting class in the nation for the 2018 season, per 247Sports, and it has the No. 3-ranked class for the 2019 season. So clearly, Fisher’s influence on the recruiting trail is significant.

It’s going to be fascinating to see how the Aggies perform in the years to come. Based on the money the university is paying Fisher right now, nothing short of a national title will suffice.
