While Baker Mayfield dazzled in his NFL debut with one highlight throw after another dime, things didn’t go as well for Josh Allen.

In his first appearance with the Buffalo Bills, the No. 7 overall pick proved he isn’t quite ready for the big stage. The most obvious moment came late in the third quarter on a critical fourth down with an ugly moment for a quarterback at any level.

From running backward for nearly 20 yards to finally flipping the ball away as he was falling onto his back, the 22-year-old managed to do every single thing he shouldn’t.

While some may not have liked seeing Allen third on the depth chart in Buffalo, moments like this showed exactly why he is behind Nathan Peterman and A.J. McCarron.

There is plenty of time left for Allen, but the rookie has left himself with a lot he needs to correct going forward.
