The 2017-18 basketball season was a fairly successful one for Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers, who made it to the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row.
Ultimately, Villanova stopped their run with a dominant second half in that Sweet 16 game, winning 90-78 en route to the championship.
On Tuesday, the WVU Basketball program announced on Twitter that players from last year’s team will be receiving special “Sweet 16 rings” to commemorate their run in the tournament.

Not too shabby. But pretty much everyone on Twitter had the same reaction: Is this really necessary?
