Stephen Curry donates $25,000 to pro golfer’s wife battling cancer

Stephen Curry

Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry was on hand for the Web.com’s Ellie Mae Classic this weekend. It didn’t go too swimmingly for the champ, as he finished dead last in the tournament. That’s not really what matters here.

A known aficionado of the green, the Golden State Warriors’ star has also made some new friends as he tries his hand in professional golf. One such individual, Scott Harrington, has had to put his pursuit of a PGA card on hold due to a family emergency.

Harrington’s wife, Jenn, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma back in August of 2017. After receiving a clean bill of health in December, she was informed by her doctors that the cancer had returned.

Curry took note of this during his trip to the Ellie Mae Classic.

“It was a good conversation this morning that I had with him,” Curry told reporters.” Just to let him know how, obviously everybody out here on the Tour, and everybody I’ve talked to that knows him, says so many great things about him and his family, and are thinking about him during the tough time right now.”

He’s now decided to make a fairly sizable $25,000 donation to the Harringtons GoFundMe account, as the two attempt to make it through these most difficult of times.

These are the small things someone in Curry’s situation can do to make things a little easier on those less fortunate than him. We also wish the Harringtons the best as they continue in the battle of their lives.
