Report: 76ers hire former WNBA star Lindsey Harding as scout

Philadelphia 76ers rumors: What's next after Al Horford trade?

Lindsey Harding retired from a nine-year career in the WNBA after the 2016 season, but she’s returning to professional basketball with the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the 76ers have hired Harding as a full-time scout entering the 2018-19 season.

In 2017, the Duke product completed the NBA’s Basketball Operations Associates Program. She then interviewed with several teams before landing with the Sixers. Head coach Brett Brown had high praise for Harding.

“It was just a great experience for me, and that’s why I felt real comfortable to be able to continue.”

Harding, a member of the 2007 WNBA All-Rookie Team, added she’d love to be in the front office and “really understand how to put a team together.”

According to the report, Harding is now the second woman to hold a full-time scouting position in the NBA.
