Mike Trout’s absence from the Los Angeles Angels clubhouse over the past few days has been felt. The injured outfielder was tending to a personal matter, with no other information being available.
The Angels and Trout reversed course on Wednesday and announced the reasoning for his absence. Sadly, it included a family tragedy. Trout’s brother-in-law, former Los Angeles Angels prospect Aaron Cox, passed away Wednesday morning.

A 19th-round pick of the Angels back in 2015, Cox had appeared in 11 games for the organization’s Single-A club this season.
There’s no further information available regarding Cox’s cause of death. But we wish the Trout family, Cox family and the entire Angels’ organization the best during these most difficult of times.
