Falcons’ Ricardo Allen reportedly lands three-year, $19.5 million extension

The Atlanta Falcons have been doing some incredible work to retain their young stars this offseason, and that work continued with the extension of safety Ricardo Allen.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Falcons agreed to a three-year extension worth $19.5 million with Allen.

This is a huge step up in the world for Allen, who was a former fifth-round pick out of Purdue back in 2014. He emerged as a full-time starter in his second pro season and has been a key cog in Atlanta’s dynamic secondary ever since then.

So far in his career, Allen has racked up 212 tackles, six interceptions, 10 passes defensed, one sack and one fumble recovery.
