Dwyane Wade’s son, Zaire, receives offer from Nebraska

The Nebraska men’s basketball program is looking to sign a high-profile recruit. The coaching staff has offered Zaire Wade, the son of NBA star Dwyane Wade.

Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers reported the news, saying Nebraska extended the scholarship offer Tuesday.

According to Zaire’s recruiting profile on 247Sports, it’s his first scholarship offer.

Although Nebraska might not seem like a glamorous location, the school has a definite connection to the family.

Zaire’s stepmother Gabrielle Union is a Nebraska fan of the highest degree. She was born in Omaha and raised a diehard Cornhuskers supporter. Union initially attended the school as a soccer player before transferring, too.

Dwyane attended Marquette University, but Zaire — a junior at American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale — might have a tough decision to make about his college future. With one Big Ten offer in hand, more should be rolling in soon.
