Happy with what they’ve seen from other linebackers thus far this preseason, the Indianapolis Colts have traded third-year starting inside linebacker Antonio Morrison to the Green Bay Packers for some cornerback depth.

A fourth-round pick out of Florida back in 2016, Morrison started 15 games for Indy last season, recording a total of 108 tackles in the process.
The youngster had fallen out of favor under first-year head coach Frank Reich and rookie defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. He wasn’t necessarily seen as a fit in the new defensive scheme.
From a Packers perspective, this move creates depth and competition at linebacker. The team has been incredibly thin on the inside with pass rusher Clay Matthews being forced to play out of position at times. Morrison should compete with Oren Burks at one of the starting positions now that Jake Ryan has been lost for the season to a knee injury.
An undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State last season, Lenzy Pipkins heads to Indianapolis as nothing more than a depth option. He recorded 14 tackles in 12 games (one start) as a rookie last season.
