Baker Mayfield, Tyrod Taylor won’t watch ‘Hard Knocks’

The Cleveland Browns are going to be on televisions all across the nation on Tuesday night as HBO premieres another season of “Hard Knocks.”

While the rest of us grab some popcorn and settle in to watch the show, two of the team’s prominent members — quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield — say they won’t be watching.

“I mean I don’t really watch much TV,” Taylor said, per Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com. “I’ve never seen Hard Knocks. It’s an opportunity for us to showcase our team, but I’m here to win football games. That’s what I’m here to do.”

Mayfield is so locked in right now that he said he didn’t even realize “Hard Knocks” was debuting Tuesday night. He also said he won’t tape it and that “I’ll be in bed” by the time it airs at 10 p.m. ET.

These two players are certainly doing and saying all the right things to lead their team, which has won just a single game the past two seasons. And based on the tenor of these comments, it sure sounds like the secret quarterback clubhouse is exclusively for daytime hours activities.
