Report: Former five-star LB Ale Kaho transferring to Alabama

Alabama head coach Nick Saban

After the University of Washington granted five-star linebacker Ale Kaho his release from his national letter of intent earlier this week, the star linebacker is now headed to the University of Alabama.

Ranked by 247 Sports as the No.1 high school recruit in Nevada and the top inside linebacker in the 2018 class, Kaho is now reportedly set to join a loaded defense with the Crimson Tide.

Kaho signed his first NLI with the Washington Huskies in December 2017. In recent weeks, it was reported Kaho had multiple family issues that pushed him to seek a transfer so he could be closer to his family.

Now he is headed to Alabama, which is further away from Reno, Nevada than Washington is.

Either way, Nick Saban has seemingly landed a top linebacker who spurned his recruiting efforts just a few months ago. He is immediately eligible to play for Alabama this season, though the time missed in camp will cost him early on.
