49ers’ Richard Sherman suffers hamstring injury in practice

Thus far during training camp, new San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman has looked 100 percent.

The All-Pro suffered a ruptured Achilles as a member of the Seattle Seahawks last season, but was able to start training camp last week on the active list.

Unfortunately for the 30-year-old corner and his new team, Sherman went down with a hamstring injury during practice Friday in Santa Clara. He was immediately removed from the field.

As noted, the injury doesn’t appear to be serious. But any time we’re talking about the hamstring, it could lead to further complications.

Having signed Sherman to a three-year, $27.15 million deal in March, San Francisco is relying on Sherman to be a veteran leader in a talented young secondary.
