WATCH: Rays’ Daniel Robertson with walk-off grand slam

The Tampa Bay Rays entered Sunday’s action with a 49-49 record and looking to get to over .500 on the season.

For a while there, it wasn’t looking good. The in-state rival Miami Marlins held a 4-1 lead into the ninth inning with Marlins closer Kyle Barraclough on the mound.

After plating one earlier in the ninth, the Rays turned to pinch hitter Daniel Robertson with the bases loaded. Needing nothing more than a single to tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the stanza, Robertson delivered something much more special. A walk-off grand slam to send fans inside Tropicana Field home happy.

To be clear: Barraclough offered up a whopper of a pitch for Robertson to take deep. Even then, it doesn’t change what ultimately happened.

Sure, neither of these teams figure to be in the playoff race when all is said and done. That doesn’t mean the most-exciting play in baseball should go unnoticed on this here Sunday afternoon.
