WATCH: Cubs’ Jason Heyward fouls ball off groin

As a baseball player, fouling a ball off any part of your body would be painful. In the case of Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward, he found the special spot that left everyone grimacing.

During his second at-bat in Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, Heyward made just enough contact with the ball to foul it off. Unfortunately for him, the ball lined right off his bat and hit him squarely in the groin.

Heyward was able to finish the at-bat, but he certainly walked a little gingerly on his ground ball out. After he returned to the dugout and saw a trainer, the team opted to pull him from the game.

No update has been provided from the team on the severity of the injury, but needless to say it’s one no one would ever want to experience. Hopefully Heyward avoided doing any major damage and can return soon.
