Texas Longhorns sophomore linebacker Demarco Boyd was suspended indefinitely by head coach Tom Herman on Thursday due to a legal issue.
Herman issued a statement, shared by Anwar Richardson of Yahoo Sports: “We are aware of the situation with Demarco Boyd and have suspended him from all team activities at this time. We will continue to monitor the legal process and pending its completion, determine any further action.”
It’s not yet known exactly what legal issue Boyd faces, but Kris Betts of KVUE, the ABC affiliate in Austin, might have some insight into this.
I was made aware by APD of a car accident involving him and possible fighting with the other driver on July 4th. I alerted UT and they told me they were not aware of it yet. They must be aware of it now.

Boyd was a three-star recruit out of Gilmer, Texas in 2016. He was redshirted that year and appeared in just four games as a redshirt freshman last season, failing to record any stats on special teams.
