Reports later surfaced that the man found dead at the scene was none other than 27-year-old former UCLA basketball standout Tyler Honeycutt
A former NBA player, reported to be Tyler Honeycutt, was killed in a shootout with cops in Sherman Oaks, California after barricading himself in an apartment. I'll have the story throughout the morning on @1010WINS. #1010WINS,

Keep in mind that this has not been confirmed by the LAPD or other authorities.
Honeycutt starred for UCLA from 2009-11, averaging 12.8 points and earning first-team All-Pac 12 honors his final season. He was a second-round pick of the Sacramento Kings in the 2011 NBA Draft, but averaged just 1.2 points in 24 games across two NBA seasons.
There’s obviously going to be more come out here soon. But for now, Honeycutt’s life comes to a tragic end at the young age of 27.
