The decision comes in light of Papa John’s founder, making a racial slur during a conference call (which you can read about here).
Other teams, college and pro, have made similar decisions.
The Miami Marlins are just one MLB team to suspended their relationship with Papa John’s, while the University of Louisville has responded to the outcry and will change the name of its football field.
