Marlins All-Star J.T. Realmuto taking paternity leave for birth of first child

Less than 24 hours after being named to the first All-Star team of his career, Miami Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto is gearing up for another monumental first.

The 27-year-old is taking paternity leave as his wife Alexis prepares to give birth to their first child.

Realmuto can remain on paternity leave for 24-72 hours, meaning he’ll miss at least a part of the Brewers series but will be back for the All-Star Game.

We wish him and his wife nothing but the best as they await the birth of their first child.
