Malcolm Butler opens up about working at Popeyes, has no issue with Bill Belichick

Tennessee Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler is taking part in his first training camp with the team after signing a massive long-term deal this past March.

The five-year, $61.25 million deal Butler signed came a mere month after he was benched for the Super Bowl by New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

It led to some widespread drama in the weeks following New England’s upset loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and in the lead up to Butler’s free agent decision.

In speaking about his former head coach, it doesn’t seem like the 28-year-old Butler has any hard feelings.

“It’s a hurtful game sometimes. Things can look different than what it is. I’ve moved past it. I’m a Titan, man,” Butler said, via ESPN.

Butler went on to indicate that he has “no bad blood” for Belichick after being benched for the biggest game of his career.

These comments were part of a larger feature on a man in Butler who went through a whole lot following his days as a star high school player in Mississippi. After receiving zero four-year college offers, the corner settled in to play for a local community college.

Unfortunately, a spat with a security guard cost him a spot on the football team. Ultimately, Butler was forced to work at a local Popeyes until another football opportunity presented itself. That’s when West Alabama came falling —enabling Butler to earn a spot on the Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent. The rest is history.

We definitely recommend that you check out the entire segment below. It’s great stuff.
