LiAngelo Ball somehow still thinks he’ll end up playing for Lakers

It’s probably never going to happen, but we have to give LiAngelo Ball a ton of credit for remaining positive about potentially joining LeBron James and his brother, Lonzo Ball, on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ball was approached by TMZ Sports and asked how he felt about his father saying he’s still hopeful his sons will be teammates in Los Angeles (and that they’ll win two championships once they’re together).

Of course, he did nothing to contradict his dad.

Yeah, I will,” he said, per TMZ Sports. “Probably later. I think I will.”

The “probably later” part of his comment is kind of amusing, given the fact that Ball admitted he hasn’t received a single call about joining any team since the draft. But the power of positive thinking runs strong in this family, that’s for sure.

Given what we saw from Ball before the draft, however, it’s hardly surprising that he isn’t having to put in for a phone answering service to handle all the calls he’s not getting. Ball had an utterly horrible pre-draft workout (watch here) that really highlighted his lack of overall skill compared to other young prospects.

It’s been reported that the Lakers aren’t interested in bringing Ball on board whatsoever.

We’d quite honestly be stunned if that changed any time soon, both because of Ball’s lack of NBA-caliber skill and due to the fact that Los Angeles is clearly already sick of dealing with the eldest Ball, who’s been a thorn in the organization’s side since last year.
