Kellen Winslow Jr. released from jail despite disturbing charges

If you have been following the disturbing story out of San Diego involving former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow Jr., the situation itself has now taken another turn.

Winslow has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and is slated to face trial on both counts. The details of these allegations are almost too disgusting to type out (read them here).

Despite accusations that he also attempted to sexually assault two elderly women in addition to the above-mentioned charges, Winslow was released Friday after posting bail for $2 million.

Per TMZ Sports, the former Cleveland Browns first-round pick will be on house arrest and forced to wear a GPS tracker until he stands trial. Having earned north of $43 million during a 10-year career that ended back in 2013, it’s not a surprise that Winslow was able to afford bail. It still doesn’t make the entire situation right.

As TMZ noted, Winslow is also facing a third charge of sexual assault. Prosecutors say that alleged attack took place back in 2003 and involved a 17-year-old girl.
