Josh Allen feeling ‘no pressure’ heading into training camp

Bills quarterback Josh Allen

Being a high draft pick certainly comes with high expectations, but No. 7 overall pick Josh Allen says he’s not feeling any pressure at all heading into his first training camp with the Buffalo Bills.

There’s really no pressure,” Allen said, via the team’s website. “There’s nothing that’s been said to me that has made me feel uncomfortable or feel worried about anything at all. I’m here to get better, I’m here to be the best teammate, the best quarterback that I can be. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

Allen, who will start camp as the third-string quarterback for Buffalo, is being brought along slowly. This approach seems to be having the desired effect on the young man, who definitely needs to be eased into the NFL game after playing his college ball at Wyoming.

His teammates have been extremely impressed with his rocket arm, and they have high hopes he’ll become an elite passer. Head coach Sean McDermott hinted at this in comments shared within the same article on the team’s website, saying, “other areas that are just as important, though, for arm strength, and that’s where we have a lot of work to do.”

Thankfully there’s no rush to get Allen into the starting lineup right now, and it’s going to come down to AJ McCarron or Nathan Peterman for the starting job heading into the season.
