Peoria Chiefs pitcher Jesus Cruz had an interesting July 4. As the St. Louis Cardinals prospect was walking off the mound after getting pulled from his start, he was approached by a feathered friend. That’s where things got interesting.
Cruz reached out with his pitching hand in an attempt to catch the bird, who then fell to the ground. Cruz then reached down to pick the bird up, put it in his glove, and appeared to say a little prayer. Finally, Cruz placed the bird on top of his head, where it briefly remained before hopping off onto the ground.
So @peoriachiefs pitcher Jesus Cruz (@cruz_sustaita) is in line to win tonight's game. And as he left the game his quick hands allowed him to make an interesting friend. pic.twitter.com/Janlx3tRJ8

If you go to the ballpark, you’re probably going to see something you’ve never seen before. For the people in attendance, this game was no exception to that.
