Jaguars DT Marcell Dareus accused of second sexual assault

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is facing yet another accusation of sexual assault.

Earlier in the week, a woman claimed that Dareus had infected her with an STD after allegedly having sexual intercourse with her while she was unconscious. It’s not a criminal complaint, but the allegations are damning (more on that here).

Now comes this note from Florida indicating that a second woman has accused the former Buffalo Bills first-round pick of assault.

“Plaintiff states that defendant Marcell Dareus, at some point while in the kitchen grabbed her breast and attempted to put his hands between her legs, which she resisted his advances and told him to stop, which he replied ‘you know I want you,'” the complaint read, via Deadspin.

The suit goes on to claim that she “blacked out” shortly thereafter, only to wake up with Dareus in bed with her and her body exposed.

These are certainly some haunting allegations. While the suits are not criminal in nature, they do tell us a story of some major off-field issues for Dareus.

Whether that means Jacksonville makes a move before the season will depend on what comes of these allegations between now and then. He was originally acquired from the Buffalo Bills in a mid-season trade last October and is a valuable starter on the league’s best defense.
