Golfer credits hangover for stellar final round at the British Open

United Kingdom’s own Eddie Pepperell stood around par heading into the final round of the British Open at Carnoustie on Sunday.

In between his average third-round play and shooting a stellar 67 on the final day, Pepperell partook in some fine wine. It came Saturday night, mere hours before the pro was set to tee off.

And Pepperell is now out here crediting the wine-induced hangover for his brilliant final-round performance.

We all now have excuses to drink before taking to the green for 18, and we can thank this gentlemanly scholar for that.

Ultimately, Pepperell finished The Open Championship tied with Tiger Woods and Kevin Chappell for sixth on the leader board. Who knows? Maybe he can get an endorsement out of this.
