Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Curtis Granderson did something not normally seen. He hit a ball in the air that never came down.
While taking on Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros, Granderson hit a ball in the air that appeared playable for Astros’ catcher Max Stassi. Only, the ball got stuck in the rafters at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

Minute Maid Park isn’t like Tampa’s Tropicana Field, or the old Metrodome in Minneapolis. There is a roof. But it’s generally high enough to be easily clear of any balls in the air.
Since the ball was in foul territory, it was ruled dead the moment it struck the roof. Had in been in fair territory, it would have been in play.
Here’s hoping that happens sometime in the near future.
