Son of former Cowboys great Erik Williams arrested for double murder

Cowboys

A member of the Dallas Cowboys from 1991-2000, offensive lineman Erik Williams played an important role in the team’s three Super Bowl titles during that span. He earned four Pro Bowl appearances and aided in the protection of Troy Aikman during an illustrious career with Dallas.

Seemingly flying under the radar during his NFL career, we’re pretty sure Williams has no interest in his name being in the news right now. Unfortunately, that’s the case.

According to TMZ Sports, Williams’ son, 20-year-old Cassius Shakembe Williams, was arrested in Mesquite, Texas, on double murder charges this week.

The report goes on to note that Williams and another man were allegedly buying marijuana from two other men when they pulled out guns and demanded the drugs. Shots were fired, and two died at the scene.

The younger Williams, a former football player himself at Central State University, was officially charged with capital murder. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
