Report: Andre Iguodala pain free, aims to play in Game 3

Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala, who has missed the past six games due to a bone bruise in his left knee, is inching closer to a return during the NBA Finals.

According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, “Iguodala has been pain-free over the past few days and plans to return sometime during the NBA Finals.”

When approached on Sunday evening about his pending return, Iguodala told reporters, “I aim to play in Game 3, but I’ve aimed to play in Game 2 and Game 3. We’ll just have to see,” per Haynes.

Head coach Steve Kerr said Sunday before Game 2 that he is “optimistic” he’ll see Iguodala playing “at some point in this series,” as well.

Iguodala is the best defender the Warriors have when it comes to holding LeBron James in check. He won the NBA Finals MVP back in 2015, partly due to his incredible work against LeBron James, and partly due to his offensive prowess in that series as well.

So far, the Warriors have been able to win both games at home in this series to take a 2-0 lead into Game 3 in Cleveland.
