NFL stars Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronkowski swimming with the sharks

How do NFL stars spend their offseasons? Most are more than happy hanging around at a beach with the family. Cabo and Cancun in Mexico are hot spots for these stars during the offseason. The Caribbean seems to draw a lot of NFLers, too.

Not Aaron Rodgers. He’s certainly already had an excursion to Mexico with the better half, Danica Patrick. But now, the former NFL MVP and Green Bay Packers star is doing something completely different.

He’ll be swimming with the sharks during the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week in July.

While most of us are internally screaming something to the tune of “heck no,” Rodgers is out here coexisting with the monsters of the sea.

According to the Discovery Channel, Rodgers won’t be the only NFL star to take part in the week-long festivities. After all, it wouldn’t be complete without New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski. Heck, star sports figures Ronda Rousey and Mark Cuban will also make appearances.

“SHARK WEEK’s 30th anniversary brings the shark n’ awe with a packed celebrity line-up and unprecedented access to some of the most exotic places in the world,” the station announced. “In addition to our team of renowned shark experts and scientists, all-star athletes and the Sharks from ABC’s Shark Tank are joining the fintastic celebration this year including Ronda Rousey, Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronkowski, Lindsey Vonn, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John, and Bear Grylls.”

We just hope that the Patriots’ tight end doesn’t decide to “Gronk Smash” a shark. That likely wouldn’t work out well for anyone involved outside of the shark. On the other hand, is there anyone here who doesn’t think Rousey can go tit-for-tat with the mammoths of the sea?

How fun.
