Minor League Baseball team makes pitch for LeBron James

The free agent saga of LeBron James has been the top storyline of the NBA offseason. But it’s not only basketball teams that are interested.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs — Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — are making a pitch for King James. And we’ve got to say, the pitch is pretty compelling.

It’s not a bad idea.

LeBron James has played much of his career in pursuit of Michael Jordan. Jordan played for the Birmingham Barons in 1994 — a Double-A team. This would give LeBron the chance to play one level above His Airness. Being only one level short of the majors, who knows where LeBron could go?

We’re reasonably sure that he’ll remain in basketball. But it’s nice to have options.
