Kings reportedly interested in Jabari Parker

After adding big man Marvin Bagley III in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings are not done looking at frontcourt help.

According to James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area, Sacramento is showing early interest in Milwaukee Bucks restricted free agent Jabari Parker.

“NBC Sports California has confirmed that Sacramento is interested in Parker, but the money has to be right,” Ham reported. “It will be a balancing act between trying to woo a player, paying enough so the Bucks don’t match and keeping the team’s salary flexibility long-term.”

Previously considered a franchise cornerstone with Milwaukee, the 23-year-old Parker has suffered two torn ACLs in his four-year career since being selected No. 2 overall back in 2014.

There was also a rift between Parker and the Bucks due to a lack of playing time once he returned from his latest knee injury this past season. Parker averaged 12.6 points in just 24 minutes of action. That came on the heels of him averaging north of 20 points during the 2016-17 campaign.

A restricted free agent, it doesn’t seem likely Parker will return to the Bucks. But that depends on the market for the young forward. He still boasts a tremendous amount of upside. And when healthy, Parker can be a franchise-type player.
