Hunter Strickland out 6-8 weeks with fractured hand after punching door

After San Francisco Giants closer Hunter Strickland blew a save in Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins, he punched a door. As a result, he fractured his pitching hand and will miss 6-8 weeks.

Strickland has been San Francisco’s primary closer for the entire 2018 season. He’s converted 13 of 17 chances with a 2.84 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 29 strikeouts in 31.2 innings. Since May 1, though, he’s struggled, posting a 4.00 ERA and a 1.56 ERA.
