Eagles give Super Bowl ring to employee that Chip Kelly fired after three decades

As the Philadelphia Eagles were receiving their Super Bowl rings during a ceremony on Thursday night, one woman couldn’t help but wonder if she played a small part in the team’s road to excellence.

Carol Wilson worked for three decades as an Executive Assistant to the Head Coach. That’s until she was abruptly fired by then head man Chip Kelly during his disastrous brief stint with the organization.

In continuing to right the wrongs of the Kelly era, the Eagles presented Wilson with a Super Bowl ring on Thursday evening.

It’s this type of family mantra Philadelphia has taken on since the end of the Kelly era that has it at the top of the football world. For as much damage as Kelly did during his near three seasons as the Eagles’ head coach, they’ve been attempting to overcome it in recent years.

Those around the Eagles made sure to show respect for what Wilson did for the organization during her time as an assistant to the head coach. That includes all-time great linebacker Seth Joyner.

Job well done, Philly.
