Former New York Yankees shortstop and current Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter seems to have settled down in Miami.

According to the Times Herald Record, the 44-year-old executive and future Hall of Famer has listed his New York mansion for sale. Jeter, who owned the castle for 15 years, has listed the asking price at $14.75 million.

According to the report, it’s known by locals as the Tiedemann Castle, and the property is listed at 12,590-feet.

Jeter, who was named CEO of the Marlins late last year, has had quite the tenure during his time with the organization. Since taking over the role, the Marlins traded away Dee Gordon, Marcell Ozuna, Christian Yelich and Giancarlo Stanton from last year’s 77-win team.

In the first year of a rebuild, it’s been one to forget for Jeter and the Marlins. Sitting at the bottom of the National League, it’s not surprising to see low attendance numbers for Miami. Yet at a time when attendance is down across baseball, Miami has the lowest average attendance by far with just over 10,000 fans per game.

Perhaps if Jeter sells his mansion, some of the money made from the sale could be used to field a slightly more competitive ball club in the near future.

If that happens, their attendance might even surpass 15,000-plus per game, which would still put them in the bottom five.
