Bengals rookie QB Logan Woodside arrested for DUI

Months after finding himself as a seventh-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, young quarterback Logan Woodside is in a world of trouble off the field.

The Toledo product was arrested on June 9 in Bellevue, Kentucky for speeding and operating a motor vehicle under the influence, according to this report from the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“Officer was sitting in the outside area of UDF when a blue SUV came through the parking lot at a high rate of speed,” the arresting officer noted. “When I walked up to the vehicle the driver had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, and he had glassy eyes.”

Following Woodside’s arrest, the Bengals released a statement indicating that they were “aware of the incident and are gathering more information.”

A three-year starter for the Rockets, Woodside finished his college career having thrown 93 touchdowns compared to 25 interceptions.

He was expected to compete with Matt Barkley and Jeff Driskel for the primary backup job behind Andy Dalton as a rookie. It remains to be seen whether this arrest will impact Woodside’s future with the Bengals.
