During Tuesday night’s 4-3 victory for the Washington Capitals over the Pittsburgh Penguins, superstar Sidney Crosby appeared to spit on a Capitals player.
The video evidence seems strong that he did. The incident occurred after a post-whistle scrum. Crosby was arguing with Evgeny Kuznetsov and had to be pulled off Capitals forward by Alex Ovechkin. While that happened, Crosby appeared to hawk a loogie toward Kuznetsov.

When asked about this on Wednesday, Capitals head coach Barry Trotz agreed.
“I think the video speaks for itself. I have seen the video. We’re just going to focus on Game 2.” – Barry Trotz when asked if Sidney Crosby spit at one of his players last night.

The series between these to teams has featured quite a bit of extracurricular activity, but this clearly crossed the line of propriety. It’s going to be interesting to see if the NHL has anything to say about it when it’s all said and done.
