Warriors underdogs for first time with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry

Most Hated Teams

The Western Conference Finals between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors gets underway on Monday. Houston is favored in the game, despite Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry both being slated to suit up for Golden State. That’s a spot the Warriors have literally never been in.

It’s only fitting that the Warriors are in an unfamiliar role. This will be a different series than any Golden State has had going back to 2015. The Warriors have had home-court advantage in each of its previous 14 postseason series. In the Western Conference Finals, home court belongs to Houston.

Time will tell how Golden State responds to its new role. The Warriors embraced being the Supervillains. Will they embrace the underdog role, as well?
