Things are just not going according to plan for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Entering a four-game weekend series in Los Angeles against the Cincinnati Reds, the Dodgers could have gotten to .500. While a four-game sweep is always a tall order, Cincinnati entered the series at 10-27. So, it wasn’t exactly unrealistic.
Things went in the exact opposite direction. The Reds swept their hosts, outscoring Los Angeles 20-9 in the process.
Twitter had a lot to say about the sweep.
#Dodgers freefall really picked up speed this weekend. Swept by the Reds in a 4-game series for first time since August 1976. Happy bicentennial everyone!!

For the record, the Reds went 102-60 in 1976 and won the World Series without dropping a single postseason game. The 2018 version of the Reds isn’t exactly that good. Although, thanks to one new addition, maybe a resurgence is coming.
THE REDS JUST SWEPT THE DODGERS IN 4 GAMES IN LA
THE LAST TIME THAT HAPPENED THEY WENT ON TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES

Other Tweeters took aim at the underachieving Dodgers.
Dodgers lose, 5-3. They were swept in a four-game series by the Reds. They are one game out of last place in the NL West. The free cosmetic bags for Mom were nice.

The Dodgers have officially reached rock bottom as they are swept at home by the Reds.

The Dodgers have two hits through six innings against a guy who started the game with a 6.47 ERA. Sounds about right.

Cincinnati Reds picked up 28.5% of 2018 season win total this weekend against the hapless Dodgers.

The Dodgers are done

The Dodgers just got swept by the Reds. At home. In 2018.
If there's a lower point for this team this year, I'm not sure I want to see it.

Are the Dodgers really this bad? 🤨😣

Worst @Dodgers start in 60 years, but idiot-boy Dave Roberts says "we have time…"
— David Wohl (@DavidWohl) May 13, 2018
Certainly, there is a lot of time remaining. But if things don’t pick up quickly for the Dodgers, their fans are going to see that as more of a threat than a rallying cry.
