Report: Arizona, New Orleans to host 2023, 2024 Super Bowls

NFL

The NFL is adding to the future Super Bowl schedule. Daniel Kaplan of the SportsBusiness Journal reports the league is set to designate Arizona and New Orleans as the hosts of the 2023 and 2024 championships, respectively.

Kaplan notes the decision will happen Tuesday in a process that “does away” with the bid system used in the past.

Arizona hosted Super Bowl XLIV, where the New England Patriots edged the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 thanks to Malcolm Butler’s goal-line interception. Two years earlier in New Orleans, the Baltimore Ravens clipped the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.

The awarding also finalizes the Super Bowl schedule for the next six years. Prior to Arizona and New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa and Los Angeles will host the NFL’s championship game.
